Ergonomic Evaluations
If you spend forty hours a week in one position, that position matters more to your body than anything else you do.
The Problem With Treating Only the Symptom
We can treat your neck. We can free up the joints, release the muscles across your shoulders, and get your rotation back. Then you return to the same desk, the same chair and the same monitor height, and the tissue goes back under the same load for another forty hours.
The load is the problem. An ergonomic evaluation identifies exactly which parts of your setup and your working habits are generating the strain, and what to change. It is unglamorous work, and it is frequently what makes the difference between a symptom that keeps coming back and one that goes away.
What We Look At
Monitor position
Height, distance and angle. A screen a few inches too low loads the neck all day, every day.
Chair and seated posture
Seat height, back support, armrest position - and how you actually sit, which is often not how the chair intends.
Keyboard and mouse
Reach distance and wrist position drive a large share of shoulder, elbow and wrist complaints.
Laptop use
Laptops force a compromise between the screen and the keyboard. There are good ways to resolve that and bad ones.
Movement through the day
The best posture held for four hours still causes problems. How often you change position matters as much as the position.
Physical job demands
For non-desk work: lifting technique, repetitive tasks, tool use and how the workstation is laid out.
How It Works
Start with your symptoms
Where the pain is, when in the day it appears, and what makes it worse. That pattern usually points straight at which part of the setup is responsible.
Look at the real setup
Photos or measurements of your actual workstation, not a generic diagram. Bring pictures from a few angles, or describe it in detail.
Prioritised changes
You get specific recommendations, ordered by impact. Most are free or inexpensive - raising a monitor, changing a chair setting, moving a mouse. We flag the few worth spending money on and the many that are not.
Habits, not just hardware
Equipment only goes so far. Movement breaks, position changes and a few targeted exercises are what make a good setup actually work.
For Employers
Ergonomic assessment is one of the more cost-effective things an employer can offer. Musculoskeletal complaints are among the leading causes of lost work time, and most of them build gradually from preventable causes rather than arriving as accidents.
We provide workplace assessments as part of our corporate wellness program - on-site evaluations for teams, practical recommendations, and education that helps people look after themselves between visits.
